Sanction Guidelines

The RRC, as the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO), shall determine and may levy monetary and non-monetary penalties against a Registered Entity, as owners, operators, and users of the Bulk Power System for violations of the RRC Reliability Standards.

The RRC will follow these Sanction Guidelines when determining monetary and non-monetary penalties, while retaining the discretion to take into account the facts surrounding each violation and using professional judgment to deviate from the recommended ranges for each factor as appropriate in order to achieve monetary and/or non-monetary penalties that bear a reasonable relationship to the seriousness of the violation.
